I was born in 1981 in The Netherlands in a very tiny village called Beers, I know right :) where I lived my entire childhood until I moved to The Hague for my studies at the age of 17.
During my very first trip to Italy with my history class at the age of 15 I knew my destiny was Italy to only fulfil that dream at the age of 28.
But let’s dial back a second and explain where I started my career in color.
During my first job as Product Planning Specialist at Kawasaki Motors Europe N.V. I came into contact with the world of color as I was responsible for trend and color research for the European market. During these five years working for the Japanese multinational I traveled Europe and Japan being the eyes, the ears to the Japanese design team in Akashi, Japan as the only non-Japanese of the European R&D team and yes the only female staff member.
I am very active member of the not-for-profit organisation of Color Marketing Group since 2007. While attending my very first European Conference in Berlin I knew I was home. At that point, color became my destiny as it felt so intuitively innate to my person. In 2018 I was elected as the first non-American President of the organisation and I currently still reside on the Executive Committee as Vice President of Membership.
For 10 years I have worked as Senior Color Designer at Avient ColorWorks EMEA and Creative Director of ColorForward, a global color forecasting guide. During this beautiful experience I travelled the world to present the societal color trends to cross industry professionals and consult designers and marketeers on color.
I have traveled and worked in forty countries speaking and consulting on Color, Trend and Design. I speak Dutch, English, Italian, Spanish, German and French.
